Troubleshoot a printer that is not responding
Work from the physical printer toward TEPS Print Center. This distinguishes a power or media problem from a USB, operating-system, queue, or application problem.

Identify what is actually failing
First checks
-
Read and record the exact message or indicator on the printer before turning it off.
-
Confirm power, correct media, ribbon, covers, and any visible jam condition.
-
Check the USB cable and hub path without rearranging other production devices.
-
Confirm macOS can see the printer before diagnosing TEPS Print Center.
-
Open TEPS Print Center and record whether the printer is absent, offline, busy, or associated with problem jobs.
Do not erase the evidence
Before clearing jobs, resetting USB, reinstalling software, or power-cycling repeatedly, record the time, printer model, media, application version, queue state, and exact error. Those details often identify the failing layer.
