Clear a printer paper jam

Stop queued output before handling the printer or media, then follow the original recovery sequence.

My printer is jammed and I'm not sure what's the best way to proceed without causing more damage.

  1. Pause the Spooler and Delete All Jobs to clear it out
  2. Then power cycle the printer and see if the paper will eject itself.
  3. Proceed to clear the jam slowly and carefully
  4. Remove the paper from the printer
  5. Trim any torn / loose ends to make a straight line
  6. Reload the printer and reprint your images
